That’s how Lancaster Sunday News Correspondent Steve Kopfinger described the June 25 opening of California Soul in his Sunday News review. “This is the ’60s of surfing and swinging, of mods and rockers, of good times and groovy” Kopfinger wrote. “It’s also a lot of fun.”
California Soul, AMT’s far-out tribute to the hot sounds of the 60’s and 70’s is on stage now and runs through August 14. “Grooving,” Kopfinger said, “is the operative word here. Tuesday, June 29 m arks the first of threeTuesday Night Music Club concerts, featuring some of the best up-and-coming singers and musicians in the area. Local fav’s Slimfit and Darcie Miner will kick off the series. These two bands combine country, rock, and alternative influences to produce a unique “Americana” sound.

A capacity crowd was treated to a smokin’ night of hit after hit when Chicago, the legendary “rock & roll band with horns,” stormed the AMT stage on May 28. Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era reviewer, P.J. Reilly, said “It’s all about the horns, baby.” He wasn’t kidding!
The night before, the band was featured on the finale of American Idol. Chicago fan Leah Kithcart won an opportunity to sing on stage with the band as part of a Chicago/American Cancer Society fundraiser.
At the end of their regular set, the packed house clapped and cheered for more, and Chicago gave them what they wanted, coming back to the stage for two terrific encores.

The stars are coming to AMT, and everyone’s taking notice! WGAL 8 visited American Music Theatre on April 29 to find out why big name artists are choosing to put Lancaster County on their tour schedules. Singer/songwriter, Colbie Caillat, stopped by to chat with WGAL’s Katelyn Smith, and was enthusiastic about performing here. “It’s a really beautiful theatre, and it sounds amazing!” Colbie said.

According to Stephen Kopfinger of the Lancaster Sunday News, audiences “had a lot to applaud” at opening night of Nashville City Limits on Friday, May 7. “Thirty-six songs are covered in a brisk, breezy two hours,” and the show provides a good time for neophytes and established fans alike.

We’re excited to announce another round of HOT summer shows @ AMT! Centra l PA’s premier music venue is turning up the heat with performances by Melissa Etheridge, Huey Lewis & The News, and American Idol’s Clay Aiken & Ruben Studdard.
On July 19th, Grammy-winning rocker Melissa Etheridge will bring her Fearless Love Tour to AMT for an exclusive area appearance.
On July 20th, 80’s pop-rocker Huey Lewis will bring The News to Central PA!
And on August 8th, the superstar double-bill of Clay Aiken & Ruben Studdard will make a one-night-only appearance.
Tickets for these shows go on sale to AMT Members on Tuesday May 11th, and to the General Public on Saturday May 15th @ 9am.
