Gary Allan and Take Me Home: A Tribute to John Denver

Gary Allan

With the allure of a modern day outlaw, Gary Allan has won over fans, peers, and critics with his signature blend of smoldering vocals, rebellious lyrics, and raucous live performances. The California native has released nine studio albums selling over 8 million albums, been certified platinum on three back-to-back albums, and been certified gold five times. Take Me Home: A Tribute to John Denver

After being selected to sing as the voice of John Denver in the CBS TV movie “Take Me Home, the John Denver Story,” there was no doubt that Jim Curry would continue to sing the praises and songs of America’s Troubadour – John Denver.  As a life-long fan, Curry created the ultimate tribute experience, dedicating himself to continue Denver’s legacy of songs and his message of love and caring for our planet to future generations.  Since 2002 the combined talents of Curry and his band have brought Denver’s music to thousands of people.  Curry also works behind the scenes to preserve Denver’s music, most notably in rebuilding and preserving Denver’s original symphony arrangements.

Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives and David Foster & Katharine McPhee

Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives

Country Music Hall of Famer, five-time Grammy-winner, and AMA LifetimeAchievement honoree Marty Stuart picks up where he left off on Altitude, his first new album in five years, exploring a cosmic country landscape populated by dreamers and drifters, misfits and angels, honky-tonk heroes and lonesome lovers. There’s a desert flare to the music here, a sweeping, spacious feel that conjures up wide-open horizons and endless stretches of two-lane highway, and the production is raw and cinematic to match, tipping its cap both to Bakersfield and Laurel Canyon as it balances jangle and twang in equal measure. While it would be easy for an artist as accomplished as Stuart to rest on his laurels, Altitude instead showcases the work of a searcher with an insatiable appetite for growth and reflection, one whose ambition, much like his keen wit and rich imagination, only seems to grow with each and every release.Born and raised in Philadelphia, MS, Stuart got his start in bluegrass legend Lester Flatts’ band at the tender age of thirteen, and by twenty-one, he was working in the studio and on the road with Johnny Cash. Though Stuart built his early reputation backing up royalty, it wasn’t long before Nashville recognized him as a star in his own right, and over the course of forty-plus years as a solo artist, he would go on to release more than twenty major label albums, scoring platinum sales, hit singles, and just about every honor the industry could bestow along the way.

Diana Krall

Diana Krall

Diana Krall is the only jazz singer to have eight albums debut at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. To date, her albums have garnered two Grammy® Awards, ten Juno® Awards and have also earned nine gold, three platinum and seven multi-platinum albums. Krall’s unique artistry transcends any single musical style and has made her one of the most recognizable artists of our time. As The New York Times recently noted Krall possesses, “A voice at once cool and sultry, wielded with a rhythmic sophistication.”

Her most recent release, This Dream Of You, has garnered critical acclaim from fans and press alike. This album is a loving conclusion of Diana’s 25-year working relationship with Tommy LiPuma. Shortly before LiPuma’s passing, the producer and artist discussed the abundance of great music recorded at their last sessions together. LiPuma was adamant that this music should be completed and issued. Krall and engineer, Al Schmitt therefore mixed and sequenced the album for the 2020 release and as such, honored their great and much-missed friend. From this release came the worldwide premiere of “Autumn In New York,” a cinematic ode to the city, directed by Diana’s long-time collaborator and friend Mark Seliger, offering a visual compliment to Krall’s loving and hopeful performance of the song.

Bonnie Raitt and Old Crow Medicine Show

Bonnie Raitt

Bonnie Raitt is heading back out on tour just months after being recognized for her lifetime of artistic achievements as part of the Kennedy Center’s 47th Class of Honorees in Washington, DC this December. Raitt and her world-class band will headline theaters around the country performing songs from her enduring catalog.  Raitt’s vigorous tour has taken her across the U.S. and Canada with stops overseas in Australia, England, Ireland and Scotland, since the release of her critically acclaimed, three-time GRAMMY Award-winning studio album, Just Like That… in 2022.

Raitt made an unexpected splash in music industry headlines last month when English singer-songwriter Charli XCX via her collaborator Justin Vernon sampled and interpolated “Nick of Time,” the title track from Raitt’s 1989 release that earned the GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year. The new track “I think about it all the time featuring bon iver” is included on Charli’s new remix album, Brat and It’s Completely Different But Also Still Brat, and whose message about “running out of time” has resonated with younger generations just as it did for Raitt’s contemporaries 35 years ago. “Well, luckily, there are people like Charli and Justin who are drawn to my music,” Raitt says. “When I started, I was idolizing my heroes like Sippie Wallace, Muddy Waters, and Judy Collins, and now I get to be appreciated like they were. I’ll take it, and wear it with pride.”
