Bill Anderson was also a hugely popular singer in his own right, earning the nickname “Whispering Bill” for his gentle, airy vocal style. This Country Music Hall of Fame member’s #1 hits include “Mama Sang a Song,” “Still,” “I Get the Fever,” and “For Loving You.”

One of the most respected vocalists to emerge during the urban cowboy era, country singer John Conlee has used his music to champion the causes of the working man. Just a few of his #1 hits include “Lady Lay Down,” “Backside of Thirty,” “Common Man,” and “In My Eyes.”
