Month: October 2017
This holiday season, American Music Theatre is proud to support the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank by hosting a Food Drive during the months of November and December to coincide with the run of The 2017 Christmas Show: Home for the Holidays.
The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank is a non-profit organization working to reduce hunger in 27 counties across central Pennsylvania. By partnering with more than 900 agencies, food is provided to more than 65,000 people in need every week, including struggling individuals and families in Lancaster County. The Food Bank’s mission is fighting hunger, improving lives, and strengthening communities.
Food Drive collection bins will be located in the AMT lobby, ready and waiting for non-perishable, healthy food donations such as these high priority items:
- Canned tuna
- Macaroni and cheese
- Canned meats and stews
- Peanut butter
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Packaged meals
- Packaged pasta and rice
- Pure fruit and vegetable juices
- Baby food, cereal and formula (must be within code date)
Financial contributions will also be gladly accepted. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank is able to provide six meals for those in need.
You can help make a difference in the lives of hungry individuals, families, seniors, and children right here in Lancaster County. Donations will be accepted November 1 through December 30. So during this Season of Giving, when you come to enjoy The 2016 Christmas Show, please consider bringing one or more non-perishable food items for those in need.
On behalf of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, and those who will receive your donations, we thank you for your support!

“Weird Al” Yankovic burst onto the scene over three decades ago and never looked back. For the first time in his storied career, the world’s foremost musical satirist and four-time Grammy-winner foregoes his usual high-octane, big-production show for an intimate evening of music, focusing on original (non-parody) songs from his 14-album catalog. After his 2016 world tour, including venues such as the Hollywood Bowl and Radio City Music Hall, this is a rare opportunity to get up-close and personal with this legendary performer. Weird Al’s most recent album Mandatory Fun was the first comedy album in history to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. In 2018 he will be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Opening the show will be Al’s long-time friend, the legendary comedian Emo Philips.
