The Temptations & The Four Tops

Thanks to their fine-tuned choreography, and even finer harmonies, The Temptations became one of the most successful acts to record for Motown Records. During the group’s five-decade career, these Grammy winners have charted numerous #1 hits including “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Get Ready,” “Just My Imagination,” and “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone,” among many others. The Four Tops teamed up in high school and spent over four decades without a single personnel change to become one of Motown’s most consistent hit makers. “Baby I Need Your Loving,” “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” “Reach Out (I’ll Be There),” and “Ain’t No Woman (Like the One I’ve Got)” are just some of their well-known hits.

“Mr. Las Vegas,” Wayne Newton, began singing professionally at the age of six, and formed a rockabilly duo with his brother in the 1950s. By the 1960s, he had a solo recording act and was on his way to stardom with the hits “Danke Schoen,” “Red Roses for a Blue Lady,” and “Daddy Don’t You Walk So Fast.” Eventually, this Las Vegas legend was headlining main showrooms and has now performed live for more than 40 million people. Starting with his first hit release “Roses Are Red” in 1962, Bobby Vinton had more #1 records than any other solo male artist for the next ten years. His impressive list of classic hits includes “Blue Velvet,” “Mr. Lonely,” “There! I’ve Said it Again,” “Please Love Me Forever,” “I Love How You Love Me,” “Blue on Blue,” and of course, “My Melody of Love.” Jimmy Sturr, the well-known “King of Polka,” has won a Grammy for Best Polka Album 18 times, and his is the only Polka band to perform on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. Arguably the most popular Polka band in America, Jimmy Sturr’s orchestra is on the Top Ten List of the All-Time Grammy Awards, and has acquired more Grammy nominations than anyone in the history of Polka music.

The Air Supply concert, originally scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2015, has been rescheduled to Friday, May 8, 2015. The 8:00 p.m. start time will remain the same.

Would you and your group like to entertain guests in our beautiful lobby prior to attending one of our 2014 Christmas Show performances? We’re extending an opportunity to church choirs,school choral groups, neighborhood singers, barbersho p quartets, and all other singing groups to perform Christmas carols prior to a show in November and December. Groups of any age with four or more singers are welcome to participate in this opportunity.
To take part, groups should have well rehearsed carols lasting a total performance time of 20-30 minutes. Space will be provided in the lobby, and your group will have the opportunity to carol a cappella as guests are arriving for the show. Participants will receive a complimentary bottle of water, guest passes to attend our brand new 2015 Original Show Inspire, and complimentary flyers to promote your special day at AMT.
In addition, special pricing packages are available for your group, as well as friends and family, as our thank you for caroling.

Gardell took the long road to Hollywood, stopping at every small town lounge, military base, and comedy club along the way. Stories about his rough childhood, wild adolescence, and new family life are executed with the skill of a master craftsman.

The Bob Newhart concert, originally scheduled for Sunday, August 17, 2014 has been rescheduled to Friday, May 15, 2015. Bob Newhart at American Music TheatreMr. Newhart has been invited to be part of the upcoming Emmy awards show and said “I want to thank everyone involved for rescheduling my appearance at Peekskill, New York and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I waited 53 years to receive my first Emmy award and don’t want the risk of waiting an additional 53 years to get my second Emmy.”

- Jackie Evancho (August 10, 7pm) is The Humane Society of the United States’ youngest Celebrity Ambassador for Animals? In her role, Jackie shares information about important animal issues with her fans and the public in addition to encouraging kids to get involved, too.
- On July 22, Human Nature (August 12, 8pm) made a special appearance at the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital as part of the music therapy program at the Hospital? They flew in from Las Vegas specifically for that performance.
- In October of 2011, Yanni (August 19, 7:30 pm) was honored by the people of China with the adoption of a two-month old giant panda cub? Adopting a panda is an honor that is reserved almost exclusively for nations, not personalities or individuals, and Yanni is the first artist to ever be honored with this gift.
- Johnny Mathis (August 25, 8pm) was a star athlete on his high school’s track and field team as a high jumper and hurdler, and played on the basketball team? Mathis entered college with the intention of being an English and Physical Education teacher.
- The Eli Young Band (August 29, 8pm) gets its name from lead vocalist Mike Eli and guitarist James Young?

On Sunday, June 29, the newest incarnation of the Happy Together Tour will bring the fun music of the 60s and 70s back to the AMT stage. With the exception of a short hiatus, the show has been delighting fans since 1984.
The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Chuck Negron (formerly with Three Dog Night,) Mark Farner (formerly of Grand Funk Railroad,) Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, and Gary Lewis & The Playboys kick off the 30th anniversary, 56-city tour on June 7.
“It’s sizing up to be the strongest and most rocking summer we’ve had so far,” said Mark Volman (the “Flo” of Flo & Eddie) in a recent interview with Jim Bessman, Manhattan Local Music Examiner.
