The Venue
American Music Theatre stages over 200 live performances each year, from celebrity concerts to children’s events, and of course, our original AMT Christmas Show. Our 1,600-seat auditorium is built for comfort, with wide aisles and plenty of legroom so guests can sit back, relax and enjoy the shows! Our state-of-the-art sound and lighting mean you won’t miss a note of music or a moment of action on the stage.
Seating
Live entertainment should always feel this good.
When we built the theatre in 1997, we chose to limit our seating capacity to 1,600 seats instead of the recommended 2,000 the space could accommodate. It was important for us to provide wider seats, additional legroom and broader aisles for the comfort of our guests.

Unparalleled sound is at the heart of every AMT performance. Partnering with industry-leading professionals in live entertainment audio, our theatre boasts an incredible sound system designed using spatial data points to custom-craft speaker enclosures tailored to our very room. From precise measurements to custom-milled, tone-wood speaker horns, the details have been obsessed over to ensure every seat in the house is reserved for the discerning audiophile.
AMT’s History
Family-owned and independently operated since 1997.
More than 25 years ago, three local friends-turned-business-partners took an unexpected idea and turned it into reality. American Music Theatre was built with the belief that Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, although not a major metro destination, deserved big-city, live entertainment. The partners also knew that applying the core values of respect, service and integrity would help AMT rise to become a nationally recognized player in the live entertainment industry.
It hasn’t always been an easy journey, but with a little opportunity, a lot of determination, and mountains of faith, we are proud to continue to serve the patrons, staff and artists who have made AMT what it is today.
