Rhonda Vincent with The Malpass Brothers
Rhonda Vincent is a powerhouse performer whose fiery talent and unmistakable voice have made her one of the most celebrated artists in bluegrass music. Hailing from Greentop, Missouri, Rhonda’s musical roots run five generations deep. She began performing professionally at just five years old with her family’s band, The Sally Mountain Show, gaining early experience on stage, radio, and television. By her teens, she had mastered multiple instruments and developed the work ethic and passion that would define her career.
Her journey took a pivotal turn when a chance performance led to an invitation from the Grand Ole Opry—an early sign of the remarkable path ahead. Rhonda went on to build an award-winning career, earning the title “New Queen of Bluegrass” and becoming known for her signature blend of traditional roots and contemporary energy. Her breakthrough album Back Home Again cemented her status as a leading voice in the genre.
A Grammy Award winner and one of the most decorated artists in bluegrass history, Rhonda Vincent has earned numerous honors, including multiple International Bluegrass Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year awards and Entertainer of the Year. In 2021, she achieved a lifelong dream with her official induction into the Grand Ole Opry.
With a voice that transcends genres and collaborations that include artists like Dolly Parton, Rhonda Vincent continues to captivate audiences with high-energy performances, world-class musicianship, and a deep-rooted love of the music that started it all.
As young boys, The Malpass Brothers – Christopher and Taylor – soaked up the music of their granddad’s phonograph records. Christopher earned his first talent show trophy at age 7, and Taylor was playing mandolin by the time he was 10. Today, they promote the work and music of classic country artists they treasure while creating new music and making their own mark in the lineage of a rich American cultural heritage. With sincerity, honesty, and an utter ease on stage that belies their years, their smooth vocal blend and skillful musicianship layer infectiously into the deep respect they pay to legends who have paved the way. Add the funny, off-the-cuff quips between the two 20-something siblings, and the engaging concert becomes a magnetic time-traveling journey to when a calmer rhythm reigned supreme.
