Welcome to Our First Time Vocal Groups
We love when many of our vocal groups make return appearances, but we also love to welcome new vocal groups to American Music Theatre. We can’t wait to hear what these amazing groups bring when they hit the AMT stage for the first time.
With recent appearances on Access Hollywood Live and EXTRA, Under the Streetlamp is making quite the name for themselves. These former cast members from the Chicago troupe of Jersey Boys have quite an extensive tour schedule, and can be seen in their own special on local PBS stations. “People often ask us why we call ourselves Under the Streetlamp. For us, that simple image epitomizes all the joy, intimacy, and passion wrapped up in the era of music we like to call the ‘American Radio Songbook.’ Thoroughly diverse and infused with an indomitable spirit, this music is iconically American.”

One of the preeminent men’s choruses in the world, the Alexandria Harmonizers have been electrifying audiences with tight harmonies and high-energy choreography for over 60 years. With nearly 100 men, from ages 18 to 81, their renowned “wall of sound” has led to numerous prestige performances and 17 international competition medals, including four world championships. On a Harmonizers web post, submitted by Steve Lingo, he said of D.C.’s premier show chorus, “You’ll need to pay for the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge!”

After making their debut on The Lawrence Welk Christmas TV show almost 58 years ago, The Lennon Sisters are still singing the beautiful harmonies that made them famous. After years together, they were formally inducted into the National Vocal Group Hall of Fame in Sharon, PA in 1991. Over the years, The Lennon Sisters have been the inspiration for questions on Jeopardy, Family Feud, PEOPLE magazine crossword puzzles and Trivial Pursuit. Saturday Night Live even had a recurring skit spoofing them.
