For the past 30 years, The Wallflowers, led by Jakob Dylan, have stood as one of rock’s most dynamic and purposeful bands – dedicated to and continually honing a sound that meshes timeless songwriting and storytelling with a hard-hitting and decidedly modern musical attack. That signature style has been present through the decades, baked into the grooves of smash hit albums like 1996’s Bringing Down the Horse as well as more recent and exploratory fare like 2012’s Glad All Over .
The Wallflowers have sold over ten million albums internationally and have won two Grammy Awards: Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Rock Song for “One Headlight” in 1998. The Wallflowers have been nominated six times for “Best Rock Song” and “Best Rock Performance.” Billboard named “One Headlight” as the #1 Greatest of All Time Adult Alternative Song, and “Sixth Avenue Heartache” as the #37 Greatest of All Time Adult Alternative Song. The band has fifteen songs that have reached the ‘Top 10’ on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay list.
Lisa Bouchelle has her own, unique sound, which might be called Alt-Americana for her acoustic guitar-based, Americana music with an edge. The music she writes unapologetically encompasses a wide variety of genres, including Americana, pop, singer-songwriter, gospel, classic rock, and more. The songs are all based around her unique acoustic guitar grooves, and her lyrics are often about empowerment and believing in oneself, and one’s dreams; about not being afraid to take chances in life; to overcome your fears, to go for it, and “Jump In!” She has sung backup for Bruce Springsteen and dueted in concert with Jon Bon Jovi; recorded with musical luminaries ranging from John Popper of Blues Traveler to James LeBrie of Dream Theater; toured with and/or opened for artists such as The Wallflowers, Train, Blues Traveler, Jason Mraz, Bryan Adams, Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, Don Felder of The Eagles, Shooter Jennings, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Colbie Callait, Steve Miller, America, Donavon Frankenreiter, and The Wailers, among others.
