Duets Contest: And The Winners Were …
You may recall reading a blog I posted on August 17 regarding our “Duets” contest with local radio station WROZ, 101 The Rose. In case you missed it, here’s a brief summary …
For several weeks in August, AMT and WROZ partnered in a “Duets” contest, giving WROZ listeners the opportunity to call in to the station and sing on air for a chance to perform a duet with a cast member prior to an American Icons show. Click here to read my full post.
Over 50 talented folks called into the station and auditioned live, on-air. From those 50, 14 were selected to audition for AMT’s Artistic Director. Four lucky ladies were chosen as winners.
This past Friday night, September 7, WROZ personalities Michelle Cruz and Bryan Jordan served as hosts, and introduced each of the ladies to our audience in a 30-minute pre-show “Duets” event. And the winners were …
– Julie Wakefield from East Prospect. Julie performed her duet with American Icons cast member Julie Keough. They sang the Bette Midler hit “The Rose.”
– Shawneen Scharmer from Lancaster. Shawneen sang with cast member Keith Adams, and performed the Nat King Cole favorite “Unforgettable.”
– Hayly Dorsheimer from Narvon. Hayly sang “When You Believe” from The Prince of Egypt along with cast member Michelle Rajotte.
– Holly Wood from Lancaster. Singing with cast member Wess Cooke, Holly performed the moving Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand duet “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers.”
Congratulations to Julie, Shawneen, Hayly and Holly, and a special thank you to WROZ and our American Icons cast. Everyone had a great time, and the winners did an amazing job entertaining our guests on Friday evening.
