Golf and Music – A Perfect Pair

golf and music - 70th U.S. Women's OpenThis week, the elite of women’s golf descended on Lancaster County to participate in the 70th U.S. Women’s Open at Lancaster Country Club. This prestigious event is the oldest championship open to women professionals and amateurs.

For those of us who have attempted to learn the game, it’s a little discouraging to realize that if we were to play at Lancaster Country Club, 70 is par for 18 holes, not 8!

There are, however, many talented folks who have not only learned the game, but have excelled at it. They also prove that golf and music make a good pair. Take a look at the names below – not only are they highly ranked golfers, they’re also gifted musicians who have graced the AMT stage over the years:

  • Vince Gill
  • Alice Cooper
  • Darius Rucker
  • Huey Lewis
  • Mac Davis
  • John Michael Montgomery
  • Smokey Robinson
  • Anne Murray
  • The Gatlin Brothers – Larry, Steve & Rudy
  • Taylor Hicks
  • Trace Adkins
  • Johnny Mathis
  • Willie Nelson
  • Charles Esten

Good luck, and best wishes to all the exceptional ladies who have mastered the game, and are participating in the 70th U.S. Open!
