The Ladies Night Out – A Country Music Event

AMT is honored to welcome seven country music legends who’ll share their songs and their stories, all on one incredible evening. Gracing the stage on FridLNO-rev ay, August 16 at 7:00 p.m. will be the extraordinary women who comprise The Ladies Night Out — Crystal Gayle & Band, Barbara Fairchild, Norma Jean, Shelly West, Jan Howard, Ava Barber, Leona Williams, and Jett Williams.

 

One of the most popular and widely recognized female country singers of her era, Crystal Gayle has reached the top of the Billboard charts 17 times with hits such as “The Sound of Goodbye,” “Why Have You Left the One You Left Me For,” “Talking In Your Sleep,” and the Grammy-winning “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.”

 

Branson, Missouri entertainer Barbara Fairchild is a talented country and gospel singer, humorist and storyteller, best known for her 1973 country hit “The Teddy Bear Song.”

 

Country singer Norma Jean was a member of The Porter Wagoner Show in the 1960s, has had 13 country singles, received two Grammy nominations, and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

 

The daughter of country music star Dottie West, Shelly West’s career has spanned three decades. Shelly’s best known for having hit duets with David Frizzell, and for their #1 hit “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma.”

 

Often referred to as one of the “Grand Ladies” of the Grand Ole Opry, Jan Howard is truly regarded as a legend in the country music industry. She is not only a talented recording artist and entertainer, but also a gifted songwriter and author.

 

Ava Barber enjoyed singing country music on TVs The Lawrence Welk Show for more than eight years. She was Hollywood’s Country Sweetheart then, and still continues to entertain audiences today.

 

Country songstress Leona Williams was once a backing musician for Loretta Lynn and Merle Haggard. She charted eight times on Hot Country Songs, and also hit the Top 40 with a Haggard duet titled “The Bull and the Beaver.”

 

Another Williams on The Ladies Night Out bill is Jett Williams, daughter of Hank Williams, Sr., and a gifted country music performer in her own right. Jett has often toured with the curre

nt touring version of Hank’s former band, the Drifting Cowboys.
